Kripalu Yoga Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY

The Kripalu Yoga Teacher is a member of the Kripalu Faculty and supports the organization’s mission and strategy through the delivery of classes and workshops within the following content areas: Schools of Yoga and Ayurveda, Kripalu Programs, and R&R Retreat Programs. 

This position requires exceptional teaching and delivery of individual classes and multi-day programs, and the embodiment and representation of Kripalu’s core values as an ambassador of the organization within and outside of the retreat center. 

The ideal candidate should be dedicated to mindfulness and breath awareness, and have a passion to educate and inspire others. This role has a significant impact on guest experience and staff culture, therefore requires high moral and ethical standards of conduct, as well as expert guest service skills. 

SCHEDULE

Must be able to work during times of peak guest volume including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Expertly and consistently delivers high quality classes across Kripalu content areas as scheduled 
• Supports the delivery of curriculum and content that is integrated and in alignment with organization’s strategic direction, mission, and values
• Offers high levels of customer service on campus regardless of work shift 
• Submits adequate monthly or seasonal availability 
• Available to attend mandatory meetings and/or trainings
• Contributes to the creation of various audio, video, and other digital mediums
• Additional duties as assigned

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification or Kripalu 200 and/or 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification or Kripalu 200 and/or 500-hour Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Certification
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching in classroom settings

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods (at least two consecutive hours) of standing/walking around the complex.
•  use of computers and handheld electronic equipment.
• Reaching, including above eye level, crouching, kneeling, and stooping.
• This position requires lifting, constant moving, standing, reaching with arms and hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. 
• Lifting and moving items weighing up to 25 lbs.
